Free Spirit Botanicals is a Victoria based company which specializes in fine hand made skin care products created in small batches. It is our desire to offer to you fresh products that are free from harsh detergents, synthetic chemicals and preservatives. We use a combination of botanical oils, herbs, flowers and essential oils, bringing the healing abilities of the plant kingdom to you. You have a choice about the food you eat, now you have a choice for your skin care products too.

Joseph was born and raised in Toronto and headed west in 1989 to make Victoria his home. He has been involved in horticulture for 25 years and has studied herbology for the last ten years. Wendy has always been a B.C. girl. Growing up in central B.C. she spent 5 years in the Okanagan and finally made Victoria her home. They live together in Victoria with one child, a dog, cat and fish. Joseph and Wendy started hand making soaps and skin care products in 1998.

We started out with the soap making, but as our knowledge of commercial skin care products grew, so did our product line. It seemed silly to use a natural soap, and then apply a petroleum or alcohol based cream on our skin after washing. Research has shown that chemicals found in skin care products get absorbs through the skin and over time builds up in our internal organs and can have a negative affect on the immune system. We feel that feeding the skin is a healthier choice.

Over the years of making our products we have expanded, by meeting our own skin care needs and also by filling the requests of our customers. It is always exciting to hear stories of how people are seeing an improvement to their skin and health by choosing products that feed their skin rather than doing more damage to it.
